Abstract

During the process of transferring solids that have a smaller diameter, the fluidization technique is the
most effective solution. Fluidization is a process of contacting fluid flow (gas or liquid) with solid
particles. This experiment was conducted using silica sand and plastic ore as fillers for the fluidization
column with a particle size of 20 mesh and a bed height of 6 cm. Observations were made after flowing
air into the fluidization column according to the variation of the filler material. From the results of the
observations, the phenomena that occurred were minimum fluidization, slugging fluidization,
channeling fluidization, and disperse fluidization. With the Umf value of the plastic ore variation of
1.464897351 m/s and the Umf value of the silica sand variation of 1.612266375 m/s.
