This study focuses on the development of an ergonomic risk assessment method for manual handling work in
the labor-intensive industrial sector in Indonesia, with a case study at one of the painting company. Manual
handling work, which involves manual lifting of objects, remains an important aspect of the production
process, but carries the risk of injury and musculoskeletal disorders for workers. The ERADC ergonomic risk
assessment method is used to identify risk factors, such as heavy loads, incorrect posture, repetitive
movements, long work duration, work environment conditions, lack of assistive devices, lack of ergonomic
training, inappropriate work tools, time pressure, and lack of worker health monitoring. The results of the
risk assessment provide recommendations for risk control, including improving work environment
conditions, ergonomic training, and the use of appropriate assistive devices.
