Analisis Cacat Hasil Pengelasan FCAW Pada Komponen Jembatan dan Gudang Krakatau Sarana Properti Menggunakan Metode Visual Test

PT Krakatau Baja Construction is a company engaged in steel manufacturing. PT Krakatau Baja Construction is in charge of 3 factories, namely the bar mill plant producing reinforcing steel, the Section mill plant for profile steel such as Deformed Bar, Plain Bar, Equal Angle, Channel, Wide Flange, H Beam and I Beam, and CFD (Center Fabrication Division) which focuses on fabrication processes such as welding. Currently PT Krakatau Baja Construction is working on making bridge components for PT Vale. The process of making bridge and warehouse components is carried out using FCAW welding, therefore a visual inspection is carried out to ensure that the welding has been carried out correctly in accordance with applicable standards and specifications. The visual inspection process is carried out with the help of simple tools, namely a welding gauge and a ruler. In the visual test of the bridge and warehouse welding results, several discontinuities/defects were found, namely porosity, undercut, undersize and spatter. Discontinuities and defects that occur must be repaired because they do not comply with standards and must comply with the company's welding map and WPS, because the WPS regulates welding parameters. Visual inspection for FCAW welding refers to the AWS D1.1/1.1M:2020 standard. AWS standard D1.1/1.1M:2020 regulates standards for accepting discontinuities and defects that occur in welding using visual tests.
