Analisis Penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri Pada Kegiatan Produksi Emulsi Kimia
Abstract
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a tool that has the ability to protect a person whose function is to isolate part or all of the body from potential dangers in the workplace. In chemical emulsion production activities there is a high risk in the preparation of liquid and solid chemical raw materials which can cause irritation, poisoning, burns to employees/operators. Cases of work accidents that can occur in chemical emulsion production activities include fires, splashing/inhalation of liquid chemicals, and so on. This research aims to identify potential hazards in chemical emulsion production activities and carry out control measures. Field observations carried out in this research used analytical descriptive methods. Data from the field is collected and used to determine control measures to minimize risks and prevent accidents. In this chemical emulsion production activity, personal protective equipment is required for employees/operators who carry out the work. The personal protective equipment used includes safety shoes, rubber gloves, half mask with chemical cartridge, full face mask with chemical cartridge, apron and glasses. The results of the analysis of chemical emulsion production activities to determine control measures and can be used as a procedure for chemical emulsion production process activities at PT. A in particular and chemical companies in general.
