Peer Review Process

ABDI: Al-Khairiyah Digital Business Journal implements a strict double-blind peer review system to ensure the academic quality, originality, and relevance of every manuscript submitted. The review process follows the stages below:

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts undergo an initial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to evaluate:

  • Compliance with journal scope

  • Adherence to author guidelines

  • Formatting consistency

  • Plagiarism level (maximum 20%)
Manuscripts that do not meet the basic criteria may be returned to authors for correction or rejected at this stage.

2. Double-Blind Review Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the preliminary screening are assigned to two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Identities of authors and reviewers are kept anonymous to maintain objectivity and fairness.

3. Review Evaluation

Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field

  • Theoretical and methodological rigor

  • Logical consistency and clarity of argumentation

  • Quality of data, analysis, and interpretation

  • Relevance to digital business and journal scope

  • Accuracy of citations and references
Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

4. Author Revision

Authors are required to respond to reviewers’ comments with:

  • A revised manuscript

  • A response letter detailing how each comment has been addressed
If revisions are substantial, the manuscript may be sent back to reviewers for a second evaluation.

5. Final Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision after considering:

  • Reviewers’ recommendations

  • Quality of revisions

  • Adherence to academic standards and ethics
    Decisions include:

  • Accept for publication

  • Accept with minor edits

  • Request further revision

  • Reject

6. Copyediting and Layout

Accepted manuscripts proceed to technical editing, including:

  • Language polishing

  • Formatting adjustments

  • Layout preparation for publication

7. Online Publication

The final, formatted article will be published in the Open Journal System (OJS) as part of the upcoming issue, with open-access availability.
