Plagiarism Policy

ABDI: Al-Khairiyah Digital Business Journal upholds strict standards of academic integrity and prohibits all forms of plagiarism. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and free from any unethical academic practices.

1. Similarity Check

All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin or equivalent software.

  • The acceptable similarity index is 20% or below, excluding references.

  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to authors for revision or rejected without further review.

2. Forms of Plagiarism

The journal considers the following as plagiarism, including but not limited to:

  • Direct plagiarism: copying text verbatim without citation.

  • Self-plagiarism: reusing one’s previously published work without proper acknowledgment.

  • Mosaic plagiarism: borrowing phrases or ideas from a source without proper citation.

  • Improper paraphrasing: rewriting someone else’s ideas with minor word changes.

  • Duplicate publication: submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals.

3. Author Responsibility

Authors must ensure:

  • All sources are properly cited following APA 7th edition guidelines.

  • Permissions are obtained for copyrighted materials when necessary.

  • The submitted manuscript is original and does not violate intellectual property rights.

4. Editorial Actions in Plagiarism Cases

If plagiarism is detected at any stage:

  • Before publication: the manuscript will be rejected or returned for correction.

  • After publication: the article may be retracted, removed, or subject to a formal correction notice.
    The authors will be notified and required to provide clarification.

5. Consequences

Authors found to engage in serious plagiarism may face:

  • Rejection of the submitted manuscript

  • Ban on future submissions

  • Notification to affiliated institutions
